Retirement Tribute for Coach Tim McConnell
After three decades and 662 wins, Tim McConnell has closed his CV Basketball playbook for the last time. McConnell has coached hundreds of athletes, many of which have gone on to play at the collegiate level, and one (his son) plays in the NBA.
Coach McConnell has won a PIAA Championship and 9 WPIAL titles in addition to countless playoff berths and championship game appearances. He is the fastest coach in WPIAL history to hit 500 wins, and he holds the record for the longest winning streak (64 games) in WPIAL Girls Basketball history. He has coached 17 players who hit 1000 career points, and two who scored 2000.
Even with such impressive statistics, it is impossible to sum up Coach McConnell's impact on the game and on the CV community. Join us in celebrating Coach McConnell by contributing a few words or a video to this montage which will be shared with him as well as on social media.
While Mr. McConnell has retired from CV basketball, we are pleased to share that he will continue to serve the Chartiers Valley School District in an administrative capacity as the Director of Transportation.
Best wishes for a wonderful retirement, Coach!
