Who is this for?

Homebound Holocaust Survivors

What are we doing?

Holocaust survivors throughout the United States have been staying at home to keep safe from COVID-19. However, thousands of these individuals are alone and are experiencing anxiety, depression, and Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder related to trauma endured during the Holocaust. Studies show that feelings of loneliness trigger the release of stress hormones that in turn are associated with higher blood pressure, decreased resistance to infection and increased risk of cardiovascular disease, cancer and mortality rates. It has long been recognized that social support positively influences mental and physical health. The Blue Card wishes to provide a social connection between supporters and Holocaust survivors through tribute videos. To help brighten a survivor’s day, please submit a brief, one-minute video with your message of well wishes.
